Custom Built HPC Options

OVERVIEW

Novel Therm LLC through its sister company, Thermotech Energy Systems, LLC   has acquired a license to use Thermotech’s patent to build and deploy geothermal powered HPC (or other) onsite data centers. The power plants consist of a proprietary modified hydraulic Stirling engine known for its ability to use low heat hot water inputs (180 degrees F or more) to efficiently convert the hot ground water input into electricity. Low heat input requirements allow for use of shallow (under 1500 feet) less expensive water wells, generating 24/7 renewable energy. This combined with an estimated long power plant life span of 40 to 50 years provides flexibility for our client’s power needs, and overall low cost of operations.

SCENARIO # 1

In this scenario, Novel Therm would retain ownership of the compute hardware, immersion cooling equipment, the facilities and the power plant. Electricity would be provided at a cost estimated at between $0.015 and $0.02/kilowatt hour. Clients would enter into a “take or pay” contract where the cost of the compute equipment plus profit would be amortized over the term of the contract. Connectivity costs would be paid directly by the Client. High usage on-prem data center users will find this scenario attractive.

SCENARIO #2

In scenario#2, the compute and cooling equipment ownership is retained by the Client. Connectivity is again paid directly by the Client. Geothermal power would be provided as a service, along with the facilities, land rent, and Patent license fees. If immersion cooling is utilized, this scenario is a low-cost venue for truly renewable energy data center operations.
